Hi, I'm Stephanie.
Over 20 years in hospitality. Five as the owner of an award-winning luxury B&B. Sixteen mentoring owners of independent hotels and hospitality-led businesses.
I didn't come to this work through a business degree or a marketing background. I came to it the same way you did - as a hospitality business owner trying to make the numbers work in the real world.
Twenty years ago, my husband and I bought a dilapidated Victorian villa by the sea - a B&B that wasn't trading and was in a really sorry state. We thought it would be simple.
It wasn't.

We poured blood, sweat and tears into turning it into somewhere genuinely special - only to find that was the easy part. Getting the right bookings, at the right price, consistently enough to live on, was something else entirely.
Then the 2008 recession hit. Bookings stopped. For a while, I thought we'd lose everything.
But that period forced me to rethink how the business actually worked. I realised the problem wasn't simply visibility or volume. The business itself needed redesigning.
So I rebuilt it properly. Not around more bookings - around the right ones. The business became award-winning, calm to run and genuinely profitable. It thrived through the recession.
That's when other owners started noticing. Hoteliers, B&B owners, people running independent hospitality businesses - they wanted to know how we were making it work in a market that hard. The conversations grew.
And eventually I realised something. What I had learnt the hard way didn't need to be learnt the hard way again. It could be taught.
So we sold the business - at a premium price - and I started teaching what I'd learnt. That was 16 years ago.
Today, I work with a small group of owners through my mentorship programme, Thrive - helping independent hotels and hospitality-led businesses become profitably booked and genuinely enjoyable to run again.
