For owners of independent hotels
From the outside, your hotel looks successful. From the inside, it feels relentless.
Bookings are harder than they used to be. OTAs take a bigger bite every year. And despite everything you pour into the business, the worry never fully switches off.
It doesn't have to stay this way.
When the business side starts working differently, everything changes. Including you.
You stop relying on OTAs to fill your rooms. You stop dropping prices out of fear. And the constant stress about what's coming next? That goes too.
You start attracting more of the right guests. The diary fills with longer, higher-value stays. And you achieve rates that finally match the experience you offer.
Not because you're doing more.
Because you've finally built the business behind the hotel you're so proud of.
Hi, I'm Stephanie.
I didn't come to this work through a business degree or a marketing background. I came to it the same way you did - running a hospitality business and trying to make the numbers work without burning out.
Over twenty years ago, my husband and I bought a dilapidated Victorian villa by the sea - a business that wasn't trading and was in a sorry state.
We thought it would be simple.
It wasn't.

We poured blood, sweat and tears into turning it into somewhere special - only to find that was the easy part. Making the business work financially was something else entirely. The dream we'd chased quickly became exhausting. And we were barely staying afloat.
Then the 2008 recession hit. Bookings stopped. For a while, I thought we'd lose everything.
But that period forced me to see what I'd missed. We'd spent all our time focused on guests - but very little time thinking about how the business itself actually needed to work.
So I rebuilt it differently.
Not by chasing more bookings - but by stepping back and redesigning how the whole thing worked. It became award-winning. Profitable. And eventually, we sold it at a premium price.
That was the beginning of this work.
What I learned through rebuilding that business became the foundation of The Thrive Method™ - a way of helping owners build businesses that work financially, practically and personally.
For the past 16 years, I've worked full-time with hospitality business owners around the world through every kind of season and market - booming, struggling, recovering, changing.
Today, I primarily work with independent hotels through my mentorship programme, Thrive. A small group of owners I coach personally to help them build a business that is profitable, calm and genuinely enjoyable to run.
I'm a mentor, not a consultant. I don't hand you a strategy and walk away.
I help you build a hotel business that actually supports your life.
Real change, in their words
The biggest change isn't just the numbers - it's how much easier everything feels. We're attracting guests who stay longer, spend more and genuinely value what we offer. The business finally works for our guests, our team and our bottom line.

When the accountant queried why our OTA commission fees were so much lower, we could proudly say it was because most of our bookings were now coming direct. We've enjoyed building the business so much that we've since bought a second one.

How this works
There are two ways to start working with me.
The Profitably Booked Workshop is the open door - a free hour-long workshop where I walk through the three shifts that move your independent hotel from consuming your life... to supporting it.
Thrive is the deeper work - a six-month mentorship for owners ready to rebuild the business behind the hotel. Personal coaching, a small group of like-minded hoteliers and the full Thrive Method™ at its core.
